Expanding the dialogue around the people making serious work.
Who Are They is a series that documents people in the creative field who create space for themselves to exhibit their talents, in an industry that doesn't always celebrate or acknowledge their active participation. The question the series name asks serves to give attention to people exercising their craft, so we can learn about them, invest in them, and work with them. Who Are They came to be after consistently seeing in-depth, serious articles or features about the creative process often reserved for a group of select people. There are many people doing unique work that is quickly glossed over or not taken as seriously as their peers work is. Who Are They is a spot to break through the noise, purposely dig deeper into diverse creative talent, and to avoid applying labels so we can address people on an equal playing field.
This series also provides a platform resource for those interested in learning about individuals who make serious work in various creative fields. The goal is that this will inspire and motivate others to to get out there and create in any medium, either solo or through collaboration. It’s a place to portray the creative process for what it really is: raw, non-manicured, serious, challenging, gritty, and fulfilling.
